Daniel Levy slammed as Tottenham announce ‘new signing’ to replace Solanke
Tottenham have made the decision to recall Dane Scarlett from his loan spell at Oxford United, with supporters hitting back at Daniel Levy with claims he will class this as a “new signing.”
Spurs find themselves very light in the attacking department given the recent injury to Dominic Solanke, and many supporters seem to think the recalling of Scarlett is to be used as a way to soften that blow.
Scarlett was finding game time severely limited at Oxford before Spurs made the decision to recall him, but the news didn’t go down well with supporters.
Tottenham fans fume at Dane Scarlett update
With the injury to Solanke, Spurs are without an out-and-out striker at the club, with Richarlison seemingly the closest they have to that.
When the news dropped of Scarlett’s return to Tottenham, the reaction among the fanbase was certainly mixed, with many emphasising the need to sell him, while others expressed their concerns that Levy will see this as a new signing.
While it seems unlikely that Scarlett will remain at Spurs past this window, the feeling among supporters is evident and it’s hard to make an argument against it.
Spurs are in dire need of attacking reinforcements and if this decision is seen as a way of subduing the blow of Solanke, it is quite frankly embarrassing.
