Tottenham fans will Kevin Danso’s claim about Arsenal fanbase

Kevin Danso was signed by Tottenham in January as Ange Postecoglou looked to reinforce his backline.

The Austrian joined the North London club on loan from Lens, and he proceeded to play a big role in the second half of the season.

As a result, Danso has now signed permanently at Spurs after impressing the coaching team.

Now that the campaign has ended, the 26-year-old has been able to reflect on the chaotic season as well as Tottenham’s Europa League victory.

Danso claims Tottenham have more fans than Arsenal

Tottenham’s rivalry with Arsenal is one of the most fierce in the country.

The Gunners fans had mocked the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful for years due to their failure to win a trophy.

However, Spurs got their own back this season as they ended their trophy drought, as Arsenal went another campaign without a cup.

As a result of their Europa League victory, Tottenham held a parade to celebrate their 1-0 victory over Manchester United in Bilbao.

Over 200,000 enthusiastic fans flooded London to watch the team show off their new piece of silverware.

After witnessing the scenes in the capital, Danso is now adamant that Tottenham have more fans than Arsenal.

He told Austrian outlet Sport Krone (3 June): “If you’re not in London yourself, you don’t really realise what a fan base we have.

“From outside, you think there are more Arsenal fans in North London, but in my opinion, there are more Tottenham fans.”

Danso could become a legend at Spurs

In just a few months, Danso has done something that even Harry Kane couldn’t achieve.

The centre-back now has a chance to add to his trophy collection next season, with Tottenham set to play PSG in the Super Cup

Another victory here, and Danso will be well on his way to making himself a Spurs legend

Danso proved to be a useful player at Tottenham this season

The centre-back is about to hit his peak and could easily end up becoming one of the best players at the London club in the coming years.

Hopefully, Danso comes back after the summer break sharp and ready to build on their Europa League victory.
