Three Savinho alternatives Tottenham can sign as Man City make transfer decision
Tottenham were interested in Manchester City winger Savinho, but the deal appears to have collapsed for now.
Savinho joined Man City last year after impressing at Girona, but was a rotational option under Pep Guardiola.
Tottenham expressed interest in Savinho in recent days, and the winger was seemingly keen on the move, with Savinho wanting to play regularly ahead of the World Cup next year.
However, Guillem Balague has now reported that Man City intend to keep Savinho this summer and will not sanction an exit, meaning Tottenham will have to look at alternatives.
Nicolas Gonzalez could be cut-price Savinho alternative
Savinho is a left-footed winger capable of playing on either side, and any alternative may need to follow a similar profile.
One option could be Juventus attacker Nicolas Gonzalez, who is reportedly available for around £25 million this summer.
The 27-year-old has previously shone at Fiorentina, and is capable of playing across the front three, and as an Argentina International, he can link up with new Spurs captain Cristian Romero.
Stat | Gonzalez at Fiorentina |
Appearances | 125 |
Goals | 38 |
Assists | 19 |
Although he may not be an exciting option, he would strengthen Spurs’ attacking depth, and his versatility could come in useful.
Jadon Sancho could be shock option for Spurs
Man United outcast Jadon Sancho is yet to find a new club, and it has been reported that despite being available for just £20m, he has rejected a move to Roma.
Sancho has shown himself to be a talent with huge potential, but he has struggled to show this at Man United. However, a move to a less toxic environment, where he can play regularly, could get the best out of him.
Spurs fans may be underwhelmed if Sancho is signed on a cut-price deal, but he is capable of playing on both wings, and has previously excelled in the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund, and a fresh start under Thomas Frank could be what he needs to succeed.

Harvey Elliott is still available
Harvey Elliott was linked with Tottenham earlier this window, and it appears likely that he will leave Liverpool this summer.
Elliot can play on both wings and in midfield, and could be a direct replacement for the injured Dejan Kulusevski.
While Eberechi Eze is expected to join, Elliott could arrive as another creative versatile option, and together with Mohammed Kudus, the trio could rotate positions to make Tottenham’s attack more fluid and unpredictable.
