Thomas Frank’s first new signing as Tottenham manager ‘will blow Spurs fans away’

Daniel Levy will hope to get fans back on side after a tumultuous few weeks at Tottenham.

Instead of basking in the afterglow of their first European trophy in 41 years, Spurs fans are instead frustrated by the sea of change that has left the Lilywhites in a state of limbo.

Levy has once again emerged as the pantomime villain, as his decisions have left Tottenham without a manager and any transfers ahead of next season.

Things are finally moving in a positive direction, with Thomas Frank set to take over at Tottenham. However, the Spurs faithful are still pining for significant additions to the playing squad.

With Levy under pressure to deliver, the chairman has earmarked an exciting signing to win fans over and give Frank some impetus ahead of his appointment.

Spurs target Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze

Tottenham are crying out for more creativity and end product, highlighted by the fact that they only scored four goals in their last six Premier League fixtures of the season.

The North London club are hoping to bring in an attacking midfielder to combat this issue, and according to Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe, who was speaking via the Last Word on Spurs (8 June), the Lilywhites maintain a strong interest in Eberechi Eze.

Eze has become one of the most exciting players in English football, blending goal-scoring abilities, which saw him score the winner in the FA Cup final, with a keen eye for a pass.

The 26-year-old’s effortless dribbling ability is also something Tottenham lack, especially given Son Heung-min’s unfortunate drop-off.

The playmaker is approaching his prime and would bring an element of stardust to Tottenham that would not only give Frank an excellent base to work with but could often blow Spurs fans away.

Eze could be James Maddison’s long-term replacement

James Maddison was arguably Tottenham’s best player in the final stages of the Europa League campaign, but his injury before the all-important final emphasised his unreliability.

Ange Postecoglou often claimed that the former Leicester man needed weeks of training to return to his peak physical condition, meaning the 28-year-old is effectively only at his best for short portions of the season.

Eze has had his own niggling injury issues, but has played significantly more games than his England colleague in the last few years.

They both possess exceptional footballing attributes, but being three years his junior, Eze could be brought in as the long-term replacement for Maddison.
