‘Thomas Frank to decide on Mikey Moore’ after Tottenham return update

Tottenham are set to return to pre-season training, and there will be plenty of decisions to make.

Thomas Frank will have the chance to assess his squad for the first time as the Spurs players report for training ahead of their pre-season tour of Asia.

Tottenham will return to training as UEFA Europa League winners, but Frank has a huge task on his hands as he aims to make his mark on the squad.

Several players are facing uncertain futures, including Cristian Romero, while Frank may also use the next few weeks to make a decision over teenage sensation Mikey Moore.

Moore to return to training on 13 July

Moore featured for England at the Under-19 Euros earlier this summer, but his side were knocked out by the Netherlands, who went on to win the tournament.

The 17-year-old is regarded as Tottenham’s best young talent, and there is plenty of excitement over his future potential.

As reported by Lilywhite Rose via X (5 July), Moore will return to pre-season training on 13 July, later than his Tottenham teammates, as a result of his international exploits.

With Spurs flying to Asia later this month to face Arsenal and Newcastle, Moore will have two games to earn himself a spot on the plane.

Moore’s future to be decided in July

A loan move for Moore has been mooted, but it remains to be seen whether Frank could make use of the teenager next season.

Spurs have two friendlies, away at Reading and Luton Town, before their trip to Hong Kong, and it seems likely that Moore will play a part in both games.

Should Moore impress Frank, he could be handed a place on the plane for the pre-season tour, where he will face Premier League opposition, but if not, then it could mean he is left behind to finalise a loan elsewhere.

Ryan Mason’s West Brom have been linked, and that could be the best place for Moore to continue his development before returning to Tottenham next year.
