Thomas Frank must recall midfielder after sensational developments away from Tottenham
Thomas Frank has faced calls to strengthen Tottenham’s squad over the last month.
After an impressive summer transfer window, there was a feeling that Frank would not need any reinforcements so soon.
Early wins against Burnley and Manchester City, as well as Spurs’ recent victory over Leeds United, indicate the Dane can get the job done.
However, two tense games in the Champions League, a deserved defeat to Bournemouth and Tottenham’s draw to Wolves at home would suggest otherwise.

Tyrese Hall scores four in four on loan
Tottenham loaned Tyrese Hall to Notts County as part of their quest to develop their promising talents.
Several of Spurs’ loanees have struggled since leaving North London. There have been calls for Tottenham to end Mikey Moore’s loan to Rangers, while Jamie Donley has struggled for minutes at Stoke City.
However, Hall is not one of those players, having netted four in his last four appearances for the Magpies.
- He scored a brace against Crawley Town in League Two
- One goal came against Barnsley in the EFL Trophy
Hall seems like a man on a mission for his loan side and continues to deliver complete performances that Spurs’ senior players have lacked this season.
The 20-year-old primarily plays as an attacking midfielder and is as creative as he is lethal in front of goal.
With Tottenham still struggling to produce convincing attacking plays, Frank must consider recalling Hall from loan if his sensational form continues.
Thomas Frank will look towards Xavi Simons
While Tottenham fans will be crying out for Frank to consider Hall moving forward, the Dane seems hopeful to get the best out of Xavi Simons.
Simons arrived at Spurs over the summer from RB Leipzig, and his performances have been inconsistent at best.
However, it is hypothesised that this stems from Frank deploying the Dutchman on the left wing rather than his natural position behind the striker.
Indeed, Simons arguably had his best game in a Spurs shirt as a 10 against Leeds, despite the failed rabona to Wilson Odobert.
When at his best, the former PSG star is a menace on the ball, able to facilitate attacks and get on the end of chances. If Frank can restore his Leipzig form, Tottenham will likely contend for the Premier League title.
