‘Thomas Frank has fresh Tottenham motivation’ after Simon Jordan dig
Thomas Frank will have a fresh fire in his belly after what Simon Jordan had to say about the recently appointed Tottenham Head Coach.
Frank has made headlines since succeeding Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham – and not always for the best reasons.
The Dane has huge shoes to fill after Postecoglou ended Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought, and Jordan is one of many questioning whether Frank has the credentials to lead this Tottenham side.

Jordan would have appointed Oliver Glasner rather than Frank
The talkSPORT presenter is no stranger to the odd controversy at Tottenham.
Recently, Jordan and James Maddison engaged in a public dispute as the former criticised the latter’s ability to win trophies, with Maddison responding on social media after winning the UEFA Europa League.
Manager | Matches | W | D | L |
Thomas Frank | 317 | 136 | 71 | 110 |
And Frank has become Jordan’s latest victim.
Discussing the appointment on talkSPORT’s White & Jordan (16 June), Jordan suggested that Oliver Glasner should have replaced Postecoglou.
The talkSPORT co-host said, “I would have gone in the Glasner direction.
“I’m sorry, Crystal Palace fans, but I would have gone that way. It’s a difficult one to contextualise about the upgrade because they’ve won something, but Brentford have finished above them in the league, and it becomes by which metric do you measure this upgrade?
“Clearly they think it’s an upgrade, otherwise [Ange] Postecoglou would still be in the job and this fellow wouldn’t be. It’s a very easy answer to give, and both of us are giving it, and we’ll find out.
“Again, it’s by what metric. If you want your team at the upper end of the Premier League at all costs, then the answer probably is yes.
“If you want them to win something again, I don’t know. I don’t know.”
The comments may be good news for Levy as they will likely motivate Frank even further to win something with Tottenham and prove Jordan wrong.

Tottenham must give Frank time to succeed
It is easy to look at Frank’s resume so far and disregard him entirely. The manager has struggled to win trophies with Brentford when competing in the top flight.
However, that would be a reductive way of looking at the Dane’s achievements.
The 51-year-old established Brentford as a Premier League side after gaining promotion from the Championship in 2021. He proceeded to cement the Bees as a mid-table team with limited resources.
The art of building a competitive team with little financial backing is not something that should be understated. Frank could reach greater heights with the resources available at Tottenham.
Furthermore, Brentford finished 10th and Spurs 17th in the Premier League last season. Levy wants consistency in this regard, which was likely the main driving factor behind Frank’s appointment.
The former Brentford boss has a level of experience in the first division which Postecoglou lacked. While it is important for Spurs to win trophies, it is equally important to be in a position to compete for them the following season.
The Lilywhites may have a fighting chance to finish in the top five next season under Frank. Therefore, Tottenham should give their new boss time to implement his ideas at the club before concluding. up for the Tottenham News WhatsApp channel and turn on notifications to have all the latest, breaking Tottenham Hotspur news sent straight to your phone.
