Thomas Frank attempts to get himself sacked as embarrassing Tottenham image shared to millions
Thomas Frank is treading on thin ice at Tottenham, not helped by an image circulating from Wednesday’s defeat to Bournemouth.
Tottenham lost 3-2 to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, leaving Frank under even more pressure at Spurs as his side sits 14th in the Premier League table.
Mathys Tel got the Lilywhites off to a fantastic start, before goals from Evanilson and Eli Junior Kroupi turned the game around.
Joao Palhinha scored a fantastic bicycle kick in the second half, but Antoine Semenyo netted a 95th-minute winner in his final game for the Cherries to make it 3-2.
Thomas Frank pictured holding Arsenal cup at Vitality Stadium
To make matters worse, a picture of Frank holding a cup with the Arsenal badge on it before the match went viral online, and supporters were far from happy.
The Arsenal and Tottenham divide has always remained volatile, and the Gunners are currently relishing in Tottenham’s struggles.
A picture of the Tottenham manager smiling while holding a cup with the Arsenal badge certainly didn’t go down well with fans online, and some became even more convinced that he should be dismissed.
Arsenal journalist Charles Watts posted on X in response to the image, saying: “This almost feels as blatant an attempt to get himself out of Spurs as that day [Antonio] Conte walked into his post-match press conference and said everything he could to get himself sacked.”

In terms of the context behind the image, Frank likely picked up a cup that Arsenal would have used from their visit to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
The picture was shared by the B/R Football X account, which has seven-million-plus followers.
An error this grave, especially given the nature of the rivalry between Arsenal and Spurs, is an appalling look for Frank, and it’s such a horrific blunder given the current situation at the club.
Once again, Frank and Tottenham were a laughing stock both on and off the pitch, and it looks as though there’s no way back for the Dane and his relationship with the fans.
Tottenham have been awful this season, winning just seven of their 21 league games, and Frank has an awful lot to do to convince fans that he is the right man for the job.
What did Thomas Frank say about the picture?
Frank was frustrated when he had to address the image, and it’s clear that he is struggling to deal with the demands of managing Tottenham.
After the game, he said: “I definitely did not notice it. It would be completely stupid of me to take it if I knew.
“It’s a little bit sad in football that I need to be asked about it. I would never do something that stupid.
“I think we’re definitely going in the wrong direction if we need to worry about me having a cup with another logo of another club, of course, I’ll never do that. That’s extremely stupid.”
Only time will tell if Frank lasts long enough for Spurs’ FA Cup clash with Villa at the weekend.
