Son Heung-min reunion? Three clubs Postecoglou could join after Tottenham sack

Ange Postecoglou is preparing for his next venture after being sacked by Tottenham.

Postecoglou has been in no rush to assess his next move after being sacked by Tottenham.

The Australian is thought to be keen to return to management, and with a European trophy to his name, the 59-year-old has already attracted plenty of interest.

Spurs fans will keep a watchful eye on where the future takes Postecoglou, as Tottenham News identifies three clubs that could look to hire the well-travelled manager.

LAFC

Los Angeles FC have looked at Postecoglou as a potential replacement for Steve Cherundolo, who has already announced that he will leave the MLS side in October.

The American manager will leave big boots to fill after guiding the Black and Gold to first place in the Western Conference and winning the U.S. Gold Cup last season.

The Californian club are hoping that they can convince Postecoglou to take over and bring his global appeal and attacking brand of football to the West Coast.

The move would see the former Celtic manager reunite with Hugo Lloris, and potentially Son Heung-min, as LAFC are pushing to sign the Spurs captain this summer.

Al-Ahli

Al-Ahli have weighed up replacing their manager despite winning the AFC Champions League Elite, and have reportedly looked at Postecoglou as an option.

The Saudi Pro League club were only promoted to the top division three years ago, but qualified for the continental competition by finishing third in the league, before beating Kota Takai‘s former club, Kawasaki Frontale, in the final last season.

Their manager, Matthias Jaissle, has been linked with an exit. Therefore, this could open the door for Postecoglou to step into a new league.

It would be a big change for the former Australia international, who has spent the last four years in Europe, but would offer a completely new challenge, which he has proven to enjoy.

Leeds United

Postecoglou could be waiting for a return to the Premier League, and Leeds United could be a very tempting proposition.

The club’s stature and desire to uphold attacking football, especially after the influence of Marcelo Bielsa, would seem very aligned with the former Tottenham manager’s values.

Daniel Farke is the odds-on favourite Premier League manager to be sacked first next season (William Hill), as the German does not have a good track record in converting his success in the Championship into the top flight.

Battling relegation is not something Postecoglou is very well-versed in, but he has the character to handle a club the size of Leeds and could be a perfect match for the Peacocks.
