‘Son Heung-min finished at Tottenham’ as Daniel Levy opens new talks

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min may have played his final game for Tottenham.

The South Korean international has been an ever-present since signing for Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen back in the summer of 2015.

It is fair to say that his form has slowly declined since the departure of Harry Kane, which has seen him become a bit-part player at times in N17.

Lifting the Europa League could now prove to be his final action for the Lilywhites as Daniel Levy has already kicked off talks ready for the summer.

Son exit on cards after Levy talks at Tottenham

It has felt at times that the 32-year-old had reached the end of the line for Spurs after a frustrating season at times.

This has often seen the versatile forward be linked with an exit, especially after the addition of Mathys Tel on an initial loan from Bayern Munich.

Despite the Frenchman’s return to Germany at the end of the campaign, there is every chance that Son could still be on the way out of North London.

This comes after Levy kicked off personal talks with the agent of Leroy Sane, Pini Zahavi, ahead of a potential free transfer in the upcoming window [Give Me Sport, 1 June].

The Germany international is also preparing for conversations at Bayern over his future, while the Lilywhites maintain their interest.

If the 29-year-old can be convinced of a move to N17, there is every chance that regular first-team minutes and high wages are going to be a requirement.

With that in mind, the future of Son may be questioned, especially if his gametime is going to be hampered, making his wages too high compared to his relative importance in the squad.

Sane could replace Son at Tottenham

It would be the perfect moment for the skipper to end his tenure in North London by lifting the Europa League trophy in Bilbao.

After coming so near to winning a number of trophies, the Premier League in 2016 and the League Cup in 2021 spring to mind, finally getting a winners’ medal was an amazing moment.

With that being said, finding a new home for Son could prove to be the best option for all parties moving into what could be a sizable summer of change.

Levy could be set to sack Ange Postecoglou and bring in Sane, with selling the South Korean potentially set to be the next move as the window looks set to open.
