‘Son Heung-min exit days away’ as crunch Thomas Frank meet ready at Tottenham

Son Heung-min is a Tottenham legend, but he may not be at the North London club much longer.

The South Korean has spent over a decade with the Lilywhites, etching his name into their illustrious history.

However, Son only has one year left on his current Spurs deal, meaning a decision must be made on his future shortly.

With new manager Thomas Frank now through the Tottenham door, discussions with key personnel are set to get underway.

Frank to meet Son ahead of potential Tottenham exit

Frank has some vital decisions to make at Tottenham as he looks to build on Ange Postecoglou’s reign.

Several players could leave the London club this summer, with Cristian Romero and Ben Davies linked with moves away.

However, the most controversial departure would be Son, who has been one of the club’s best players of recent years.

The forward was a revelation playing alongside Harry Kane, but has shown signs of decline amid his departure.

Son’s numbers were down last season, and he was unable to replicate the clinical touch that has served him so well over the years.

Now, the South Korean international will decide his future after he meets with his new boss, according to Jason Lee (15 June).

The Korean football journalist states that if he is to leave, then Son is open to joining Jose Mourinho at Fenerbache.

Son believes that Mourinho was the manager who unlocked his potential and took him to the next level.

Son may believe now is the time to leave Spurs

If Son waved goodbye to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, then many supporters would not begrudge him such a move.

The forward has been a magnificent servant to the Lilywhites and has reached a defining moment in his career at 32.

Son has now achieved what he set out to do in lifting silverware with the Europa League trophy and may want a fresh challenge.

For Tottenham, the departure would also be timely from a money standpoint, as he will be available on a free transfer next summer.

With so much riding on this meeting, it feels as though now is the end for Son and Spurs’ compelling relationship.
