Solanke to demand January exit as Tottenham ‘work hard’ to complete deal

Dominic Solanke could look to leave Tottenham already if they sign a new striker in January.

The England international has had a largely positive start to life in North London despite a turbulent campaign under Ange Postecoglou.

The 27-year-old didn’t cover himself in glory in the Boxing Day defeat against Nottingham Forest but remains as the undisputed starting striker in the Spurs squad.

This could all be set to change in the winter transfer window which could prompt the former Chelsea youngster to consider his options away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Injuries have taken their toll this campaign which has seen the likes of Archie Gray forced to play at centre-back in recent weeks.

These issues have also effected the forward line with Richarlison missing large spells, leaving the ex-Bournemouth man as the only senior striker available.

As a result, Postecoglou is considering the signing of Randal Kolo-Muani in the January window as PSG look to offload the striker next month [TEAMtalk].

Spurs will have to “work hard” to convince the France international to move to the Premier League which could see them offer starting assurances to the striker.

Given that the North Londoners typically operate with a solo number one, it could see the former Frankfurt man start on a regular basis.

This could force Solanke onto the bench for the majority of the second half of the season which is unlikely to sit well with the Englishman.

As a result, the forward signed from Bournemouth could look to move on in January, just six months after completing a club-record transfer.
