Rio Ferdinand’s stunning Eberechi Eze prediction could come true as Tottenham make approach

Tottenham are chasing after Eberechi Eze this summer transfer window in what would no doubt be a massive signing.

After James Maddison’s ACL injury, Spurs are in dire need of a new attacking midfielder.

Therefore, Tottenham want to sign Eze from Crystal Palace before the window slams shut.

The attacking midfielder has been fantastic in Croydon and netted the winner in the FA Cup final.

However, Eze has been in the headlines for years now, with Rio Ferdinand previously making a prediction about the England international.

Rio Ferdinand: Eze will play for a big club

With rumours circulating, Tottenham have reportedly made contact with Eze over a potential deal.

Spurs will no doubt have to act fast if they want to sign the attacking midfielder, with Eze’s release clause set to expire on Friday.

However, speculation regarding the England international is nothing new, with the 27-year-old being a major player at Palace for the past three seasons.

Now, quotes from Ferdinand have resurfaced from back on 21 March when he was speaking to TNT Sports.

He said: “His journey has been unique. He’s had disappointments in his academy life, released from clubs, found a new journey and a different pathway for himself. He’s got to this level and now he’s an England international.

“This kid, no disrespect to Palace, could go on and play for one of the top teams. He’s got that individual brilliance; he’s got the awareness when he’s dribbling to keep his head up and bring others into play.

“I speak to other players that play against him, and they say he’s such an elusive player, unpredictable in the way that he carries the ball, but also [his strength].

Therefore, if Spurs are to pull this deal off, it will no doubt show that Ferdinand’s prediction has come true.

No matter what people say about Tottenham, there are still a big club, and the Europa League trophy proves that.

Now, all that is needed is for Spurs to finalised the deal before another club swoops in.

Eze would be an upgrade on James Maddison

While many were speculating on who could replace Maddison, if Eze is brought in, it would be a massive upgrade.

Not only does the attacking midfielder know how to win trophies, the England international’s attacking output is superior to Maddison’s.

On top of this, Eze is a big game player and has consistently stepped up when needed at Palace.

If a deal is able to be done, Spurs should not think twice.
