Richarlison returns, Porro axed, new Kudus role – Tottenham predicted XI v Luton

Thomas Frank is expected to mix up his team as Tottenham travel to Luton next Saturday.

With one pre-season friendly under their belts, Tottenham travel to Kenilworth Road next to take on Luton on 26 July.

Frank would have been generally pleased with the 2-0 win against Reading on Saturday (19 July), and will hope to build some momentum with another positive result as Spurs take on the Hatters.

The Dane will hope to see a few more players in action as Tottenham News predicts how the Lilywhites could line up.

Richarlison to lead the line ahead of Kudus

Frank will be hoping to see some players who did not feature against Reading, including Richarlison, who has been slowly working his way back to full fitness.

The Dane explained that the Brazil striker has been steadily building up his fitness and is expected to feature against Luton.

Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert will likely join him in the front three, as both were given an extended break after playing for France in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, and have yet to get a run out under Frank.

Behind them, the last of the late arrivals in Archie Gray will be looking to make an impression in his preferred position in the centre of the park alongside fellow youngster Lucas Bergvall.

Luka Vuskovic’s outstanding debut performance will likely earn him a place in the starting lineup, while Djed Spence could replace Pedro Porro after linking up well with Mohammed Kudus.

Destiny Udogie and Micky van de Ven will be expected to close out the back four, with Antonin Kinsky likely to be given the nod to showcase his credentials further.

Kudus to be given a chance to impress in new role

Kudus was particularly impressive against Reading, as he was involved in the build-up of both goals and showed the skill and power that convinced Spurs to spend £55million on him.

Another aspect of the Ghanaian’s appeal is his versatility, as he can play anywhere across the front line.

Frank will want to test the 24-year-old in various positions, and could line him up behind Richarlison, as both a creative midfielder and a second striker.

This is a position the manager used to good effect with Brentford, and he could be curious to see whether Kudus can be as effective in that role as he was on the wing.
