Richarlison goodbye? Three players Tottenham could sell after Wissa news

Yoane Wissa’s potential arrival at Tottenham could lead to some departures in North London.

Wissa is a name which has gained traction at Tottenham in recent weeks, with the player thought to be keen on the idea of reuniting with Thomas Frank

The Lilywhites had seen their pursuit of the striker simmer down as he travelled to Portugal as part of Brentford’s pre-season tour. However, Wissa has now returned to London for talks over his future.

The addition of another attacker would certainly mean sales, as Tottenham News looks at three forwards the Lilywhites could sell this summer.

Will Lankshear

It had been suggested that Will Lankshear would be given a chance to shine under Thomas Frank during pre-season, and this has already materialised.

The centre-forward scored the opening goal as Tottenham beat Reading 2-0 (19 July).

However, it is difficult enough for young talents to play consistent minutes with the first team, and the addition of Wissa would add to that difficulty.

Similar to Josh Keeley, who signed a permanent contract with Luton Town this month, Lankshear could be tempted to leave in search of a starting position. Despite a disappointing loan at West Brom, it is believed that the Baggies are still keen on Lankshear, and he could return to The Hawthorns summer.

Richarlison

After three years at Hotspur Way, Tottenham are prepared to sell Richarlison due to his inconsistent performances.

The Brazilian was signed from Everton for £60million, but injuries have prevented him from hitting his best form. As a result, a return to Brazil is on the cards this summer.

As reported by Brazilian outlet Terra (15 July), Palmerias have shown a strong interest in Richarlison.

The Sao Paulo club have contacted Tottenham and are prepared to offer a fee close to his £55million price tag. With Mohammed Kudus an option for Spurs’ midfield and right wing, Wissa would likely be direct competition for Richarlison.

Therefore, he could take the Brazilian club up on any offer that comes his way to secure regular minutes.

Dane Scarlett

Dane Scarlett is still hoping to kickstart his career at Tottenham after he was recalled from Oxford United at the start of 2025.

The forward went on to score and assist during Spurs’ 3-0 win over Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League (30 January). However, he has yet to see consistent minutes with the first team.

As a result, it was suggested that Scarlett could drop down to League One on loan next season. However, with Wissa expected to arrive at Hotspur Way, a permanent transfer could be on the cards.

Leyton Orient could be one club that signs him this summer, after Jamie Donley and Keeley’s successful loan spells. Whatever his future may hold, Scarlett has the potential to thrive in the coming years.
