Richarlison ‘could be done’ at Tottenham as Goodison Park footage emerges
Tottenham have had it rough in the 2024-25 season with Ange Postecoglou’s men currently sitting 15th in the Premier League.
While Spurs aren’t quite yet involved in the Premier League relegation battle, the fact that Everton are now only four points behind them in the league is no doubt a cause for concern.
In addition to their league position, the fact they were defeated 3-2 by the Toffees on Sunday (19 January) says all you need to know about how well things are going in North London at the moment.
And now that Dominic Solanke has been ruled out for an extended period of time due to injury, it feels like it could finally be time for Richarlison to step up.
While he did manage to bag a goal and tried his best to get Spurs back into the game, his efforts weren’t enough.
At the end of the clash, most of the Spurs players made their way over to their fans, whereas Richarlison chose to do a lap of honour and clapped the Toffees’ side of the stadium instead.
Footage of the incident was shared on X [19 January] by account @TheFortyFour.
Not only does this show how much of an outcast the Brazilian is, but it also outlines why his days could be numbered at Tottenham.
Richarlison and Tottenham need to go their separate ways
Even though Spurs spent £50million to pry the Brazilian away from Goodison Park, his time in London hasn’t been the best.
Solanke was brought in during the summer to lead Spurs’ attacking line and even though he’s now out injured, Postecoglou still didn’t choose to start Richarlison against Everton.
Granted, nothing is going the way that Spurs anticipated things to go this season but it still feels like a lot more should be coming from the squad.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess where the future of the 27-year-old lies but with the exit rumours that have been hovering over his head since the start of the campaign, it feels like he could be done at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
