Radu Drăgușin ‘has played his final Tottenham game’ after Fabrizio Romano reveal
Radu Drăgușin might well have already played his final match for Tottenham.
Ange Postecoglou’s side got back to winning ways with a 3-0 UEFA Europa League victory over IF Elfsborg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (30 January).
However, it wasn’t an entirely positive evening for Postecoglou as the Australian lost yet another player to injury, with Drăgușin – who was introduced at half-time – forced to withdraw after suffering what looked like a “serious” setback.
Postecoglou confirmed that the Romanian won’t feature against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday (2 February), and there are even fears that he could miss the majority of what is left of the season [via The Telegraph, 1 February].
As a result, Spurs have entered the market to sign a new defender, and although they were rejected by AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori [via Gianluca Di Marzio, 1 February], according to Fabrizio Romano (31 January), the club want to sign two new defenders before 11 pm on Monday 3 February.
And if they get those deals across the line, it could mark the end of the road for Drăgușin at Tottenham.
Radu Drăgușin finished at Tottenham?
Should Spurs bring in two new defenders as expected, those players will have time to settle in and make a name for themselves while Drăgușin is sidelined – especially if he is ruled out for six months, as has been suggested.
Therefore, by the time the 22-year-old returns from injury, he might struggle to get back into the side before the season comes to an end.

And based on the way his Spurs career has gone so far, if these two defenders settle in well, the North London club could decide to cut ties with Drăgușin in the summer, before he even has a chance to kick a ball for the club again.
