Postecoglou to put Tottenham job on the line after latest Richarlison news
Ange Postecoglou seems to be holding onto his Tottenham job by a thin thread thanks to their poor results over the last month or so.
Spurs currently sit 11th in the Premier League and are seven points adrift of the top four spots with poor performances against the likes of Chelsea springing to mind.
And, if their recent performances such as their 1-1 draw against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday is anything to go off, it feels like the Australian is making a mistake about where the future of Richarlison lies.
That is because, as per a report from TNT Sports Brazil (12 December), Richarlison wants to remain at Tottenham this season despite recent rumours linking him with a return to Brazil with Fluminense with the striker now “unlikely” to leave.
The report also adds that Ange Postecoglou also has “no plans” to loan the Brazilian out in the upcoming January transfer window which means he’s likely set to stay within Spurs’ first-team fold.
Tottenham are doing the wrong thing by not offloading Richarlison
Times within the Spurs camp may have been difficult this season due to the amount of injuries they’ve suffered but that doesn’t mean something can’t be salvaged from the campaign.
In fairness to Richarlison, the amount of time he’s spent sidelined is likelythe main reason behind his lack of appearances and form this term as Dominic Solanke has almost single-handedly led the line.
While injuries aren’t solely the attacker’s fault, it feels like he could have done a lot more this season to help out his teammates.

Solanke has more or less been thrown straight into the deep end and has been told to try and lead the attacking line for one of the most well-known English clubs in the world by himself.
If Tottenham want to try and get something from this season and Postecoglou would like to keep his job, it feels like another striker needs to be brought in as soon as possible with Richarlison promptly being shown the exit door.
Otherwise, it feels like things could take an even bigger turn for the worse and Spurs could end up rather red-faced.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs are lining up a bid for a Dutch youngster ahead of the January transfer window.
