Postecoglou has obvious solution to Tottenham ‘nightmare’ after new transfer update

Tottenham have been dealt a rather difficult hand since the start of the 2024/25 season with the amount of injuries they’ve suffered from.

While a lot of other clubs in the Premier League have also had their own woes to deal with, it feels like Spurs have received the brunt of it.

In fact, Jamie O’Hara even labelled the injury to Radu Dragusin as a “nightmare” after the Romanian was forced off the pitch against Elfsborg on Thursday.

At the moment, they currently sit 15th in the Premier League table and it feels like the only way for them to improve their standing is by looking into the options available on the transfer market.

So, it comes as no surprise that Spurs’ interest in Lloyd Kelly has been brought up once again with the North London club among two other European clubs who are interested in acquiring his services [La Gazzetta dello Sport, 1 Ferburary].

Lloyd Kelly would be a smart move for Tottenham

Even though it’s been clear since the winter transfer window opened that Spurs would need one or two new defenders to come in before 3 February, they’ve left things until the last minute and now seem to be scrambling around for anyone they can get their hands on.

However, the transfer of Kelly would be a rather smart move on Postecoglou’s behalf as, even though he’s naturally a centre-back, he can also be used at left-back which gives the Australian extra cover in another position that has been hampered by injury.

The former Bournemouth man has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt and would no doubt help guide players such as Archie Gray into becoming much better players.

There’s now only three days left of the transfer window and unless some serious moves are made soon, it’s hard to see how things are going to get any better at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

And this move would help solve one “nightmare” for Postecoglou, it’s an obvious solution.
