Postecoglou can’t use one Tottenham excuse after what he did v Leicester
Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Richarlison was feeling his groin at half-time for Tottenham in their 2-1 defeat to Leicester and yet still opted to put him out for the second half.
Tottenham fell to another low on Sunday 26 January with a 2-1 defeat against Leicester as the pressure continues to build on Postecoglou.
The Australian has consistently used the injury crisis as an excuse but after his decision involving Richarlison, he lost all validity in those claims.
Postecoglou, as quoted by TBR [26 January], said: “[Richarlison] was feeling his groin mate, he should have come off at half-time but he wanted to give another 10 minutes.”
The very fact that he then allowed him to play on, despite the availability of Will Lankshear, is another example to add to the long list of mistakes he has made at Tottenham.
Will Lankshear will be fuming at Tottenham
With Spurs already in the middle of an injury crisis, Lankshear’s constant omission is quite baffling and those concerns were amplified against the Foxes.
Why risk an injured Richarlison when you have a clear option to replace him on the bench? Added to that, why wasn’t Lankshear brought on until stoppage time?

Postecogolou holds some validity in his comments about the situation, but he loses all credibility with silly decisions like that which further down the line, will inevitably be used by the boss in an attempt to gain some sympathy.
Quite frankly, that won’t work at Tottenham anymore and with him said to be on the brink of the sack [The Sun], there will be hopes that those excuses soon become a thing of the past.
