Mikkel Damsgaard ‘to follow Thomas Frank’ after Tottenham manager appointment

Brentford playmaker Mikkel Damsgaard may be on his way to Tottenham once they appoint Thomas Frank as manager.

The Danish manager looks set to join Spurs as their next head coach after several impressive years with the Bees.

Daniel Levy sacked Ange Postecoglou after a poor Premier League campaign, and the North London outfit could potentially have big plans in place to strengthen their team ahead of next season.

Tottenham interested in Damsgaard transfer as Frank on his way

Tottenham are interested in Damsgaard this summer transfer window, according to CaughtOffside.

The news outlet reports (11 June) that Spurs are keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, with several clubs closely monitoring his situation.

It’s been claimed that the North London outfit are weighing up a move for the Denmark international in the coming months, with Brentford wanting around £42million for the attacking midfielder.

Tottenham will undoubtedly have an edge over other teams to buy the playmaker once Frank is appointed manager, and may follow the 51-year-old head coach to North London.

The 24-year-old joined the Bees in 2022 and finally became a regular starter for them this season under the Danish manager.

Frank to raid Brentford after Tottenham appointment

Spurs have been linked with hijacking a move for Bryan Mbeumo amid strong interest from Manchester United in the forward.

Yoan Wissa is another player Frank may want to sign once he’s appointed at the North London outfit after a brilliant campaign from the DR Congo international at the Gtech Community Stadium.

One would like to think that Brentford secured a deal for a promising talent like Damsgaard due to the Danish manager’s influence, and a similar scenario could potentially happen at Tottenham soon.

Spurs had several fitness issues to contend with this season, as Lucas Bergvall, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski spent a considerable amount of time on the sidelines.

Postecoglou evidently suffered as much as he did domestically due to a lack of quality options on the bench at the North London outfit.

Tottenham arguably could do with more creativity in their final third after struggling to score goals consistently in the current campaign.

While the Lilywhites should focus on defensive reinforcements, their attack could evidently also use some fresh faces.

Damsgaard’s age and potential make him a prime candidate for Spurs, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him sign after Frank is officially unveiled in North London.
