‘Mikey Moore to benefit’ as loan development emerges at Tottenham

Mikey Moore has been starved of regular first-team minutes for Tottenham this season under Ange Posteoglou.

It has been one of the worst campaigns in recent memories for Spurs, but that hasn’t seen the teenager be handed an opportunity to shine.

The 17-year-old has made just seven Premier League appearances as the likes of Son Heung-min have been continuously trusted despite a lack of form.

The England under-19 international may be in line to receive a playing boost moving into the new season as a loan departure looks to be on the cards.

Moore to benefit from Tottenham loan exit

There aren’t many brighter talents emerging from Hotspur Way right now than Moore, but he hasn’t been given an opportunity to impress.

Even Will Lankshear has been allowed to go out on loan to West Brom, although things haven’t quite worked out at The Hawthorns for the forward.

With that being said, it could make sense to get the best out of the English winger at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium moving forward.

That may have taken a boost in N17 as Timo Werner now looks destined to depart at the end of his second loan spell.

Fabrizio Romano reported on 7 April that the Lilywhites won’t be signing the Germany international on a permanent deal from RB Leipzig at the end of the season.

This would leave a gap in the squad in North London, which could give Moore the opportunity to take a step up in the pecking order under Postecoglou.

Werner exit makes sense at Tottenham

It has been far from a productive loan spell with the Lilywhites for the former Chelsea man, who hasn’t made any sort of positive impact.

As a result, it makes total sense to send him back to the Bundesliga at the end of the campaign rather than pay a fee for his services.

This could be the perfect news for the future of Moore at Tottenham, who may have been keen on a loan move before this departure was mooted.

The teenage winger could go on to be a superb member of Spurs’ squad next season but needs regular minutes to be able to prove himself.
