Mathys Tel ‘already set for Tottenham exit’ after recent developments
Mathys Tel is unlikely to remain with Tottenham beyond this season after recent developments.
After a drawn-out transfer saga in the winter window, Tottenham managed to secure the signing of Tel on loan from Bayern Munich with an option to make the deal permanent included in the agreement.
It was yet another example of the positive relationship between Spurs and Bayern, who have exchanged several players in recent years, most notably Harry Kane and Eric Dier, with the latter set to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena.
Tel revealed what Kane told him ahead of his move to Tottenham, and at the time, it seemed to be a very positive arrangement for the 19-year-old. However, things have quickly turned sour, and this could end up making Tel’s stay in North London a relatively short one.

Spurs hold an option to buy the forward, who recently shone for France’s Under-21s, for £45.5million at the end of the season. However, Tel will, of course, have a say in whether he wants to make the move himself.
And after what has happened recently, it is difficult to see why he’d want to stick around.

First and foremost, Spurs’ struggles this season and Ange Postecoglou’s uncertain future could make it difficult to convince Tel that Tottenham is the place for him long-term.
However, incidents between the player and fans won’t have helped Spurs’ case.
After the 2-0 Premier League defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, 16 March, Tel was involved in an interaction with some furious Spurs supporters.
Now, the player has been criticised after posting a series of photos to his official Instagram account (27 March), which featured a picture of himself wearing Fulham star Willian’s shirt.
Tel unlikely to be happy at Tottenham
Willian infamously snubed a move to Tottenham to join Chelsea, before going on to also feature for Arsenal and Fulham. Therefore, he is not a popular figure among Spurs fans, and it is understandable why they wouldn’t be happy with Tel’s post, which has since been deleted after the reaction.
However, at the same time, Tel is only 19 years old and is unlikely to know the history between Willian and Tottenham. As a result, criticising the player was probably not the best idea.
And after multiple negative experiences with fans and Spurs’ poor form, it is difficult to see why Tel would choose Tottenham as his next club, which means he is likely to leave once his loan spell ends.
