‘Manor Solomon finished at Tottenham’ as £26m offer ready

Manor Solomon could finally be about to have his future settled at Tottenham.

The forward spent the entirety of last season on loan in the Championship with Leeds United, and speculation has been rife this summer regarding a possible return to Elland Road.

Solomon has made it clear that he wants to be given the chance to impress at Spurs before they make any sort of move to sanction his permanent exit, but an injury in pre-season may well have put paid to those suggestions.

The Israeli international has been left in limbo somewhat over the last few weeks, but the Lilywhites are preparing a move which should provide a strong indication as to where his future lies.

£26m Yilmaz deal will push Solomon out of the door at Spurs

Spurs have shown a strong intent to keep Solomon so far this summer, despite the interest that has come their way from Leeds.

However, they could now be about to strike a deal which forces the former Fulham man closer towards the exit once again.

The N17 outfit appear keen to add to their options on the flanks following Son Heung-min’s departure, and they have now turned their attention towards Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz.

The 25-year-old’s agent has been in contact with the North Londoners, who are preparing an offer of a package worth around £26million, according to Turkish outlet Fotospor (6 August).

Tottenham’s imminent proposal is thought to be made up of an initial £22m bid, as well as a further £4m of add-ons in order to sweeten the deal, but that is slightly shy of Galatasaray’s valuation of £34m.

Spurs are hopeful of bolstering their ranks to account for their skipper’s departure, but the potential arrival of Yilmaz could yet have big implications for Solomon.

The Lilywhites already have numerous capable options to play in the wide areas, with Solomon, Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus, Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert all useful outlets on the wings.

Thomas Frank currently has a bloated unit at his disposal, and with a clear-out of squad players needed in the next few weeks, Solomon could be a likely fall guy, given his limited involvement with his parent club in the last few years.

Tottenham should look to sell Solomon

With that in mind, it makes sense for Tottenham to look to sell Solomon in the final few weeks of the transfer window, and they have a perfect suitor in Leeds.

The 26-year-old became a key player during his stint with the Whites last term, and crucially for Spurs, they seemed like a club that would do everything in their power to keep him permanently.

Daniel Farke has added plenty of his squad already this summer as they prepare for the Premier League, but they would surely still find space for a man who built up such a good rapport with their fans.

That could yet play perfectly into Spurs’ hands, as it could open the door to the quick money and easy sale that many had expected earlier in the summer.
