Liverpool to ‘hand Tottenham perfect transfer’ as Harvey Elliott signing news emerges

Harvey Elliott is one of many who could leave Premier League champions Liverpool this summer, and Tottenham may take advantage of that.

Elliott, 22, has fallen out of favour at Anfield under Arne Slot, and the Reds won’t stand in his way if the attacker chooses to pursue pastures new.

Spurs spent large portions of the 2024/25 campaign crying out for consistency and quality, and could add that to their ranks in the form of a two-time Premier League champion.

Elliott set for Liverpool departure

After six years and 147 appearances, time looks to be up on the playmaker’s Liverpool career.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the England Under-21 star will not be shy of potential destinations and thinks leaving Anfield could ultimately benefit Elliott.

Speaking to Liverpool News, he said: “I think Harvey Elliott would walk into quite a few other teams in the Premier League.

“It is his misfortune, in a way, that he is down the pecking order at Liverpool because they have such a talented squad.

“It may be in his case, if I was his agent, you might think it is the right time to move and become a starter at another club, maybe halfway down the Premier League.

“You and I both know that all those clubs in the middle of the table will have a serious look at him, particularly if the price was on the attractive side, he is a pretty proven Premier League performer, even though he has a bit-part role at Liverpool.”

Tottenham could capitalise on Elliott’s departure

One club’s loss is another’s gain, and in this situation, Tottenham could inherit a serious talent.

It’s easy to forget Elliott’s tender age of just 22, given how long he has been in and around the Liverpool first team.

The attacking midfielder has clinched every domestic honour available to him and played 53 times during Jurgen Klopp’s last campaign in charge at Anfield.

Great showings against PSG and Brighton this term showed that Elliott still has the ability to perform at the highest level, which will bring forward the attention of multiple clubs this summer.

Tottenham are crying out for an exciting, forward-thinking star who is Premier League proven, as they aim to get their domestic form back on track next season, as well as challenge in the Champions League.

There is every chance that if given regular top-flight football, Elliott could go on to achieve the large potential that saw the Reds fork out a record compensation fee of £4million to Fulham for his services.

If Spurs put their hat in the ring for the 22-year-old, the lure of Champions League football and world-class facilities might just be enough to tempt Elliott into signing for the North London club.

With a point to prove and endless potential, Tottenham should make the outgoing Liverpool youngster their next signing of the summer 2025 transfer window.
