Levy’s sensational swoop for Leao – Three more players Tottenham could sign to replace Son
Son Heung-min could be set to leave Tottenham this summer after almost ten years in North London.
The winger’s contract expires next year, and MLS side Los Angeles FC are set to make an offer to Spurs imminently.
Son, 33, scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists for Ange Postecoglou’s side last season, and would need to be replaced if Thomas Frank is willing to sanction his departure.
Here, Tottenham News suggests three more possible replacements for the Spurs legend.

Igor Paixao – Feyenoord
Igor Paixao is currently the subject of a transfer tug of war between Leeds United and Marseille, with the Premier League side discussing a fee worth around £28million.
Spurs would have to act quickly if they were to hijack a move, but for the fee in question, the money would undoubtedly be worth it.
Paixao scored 16 goals and provided 14 assists in the Eredivisie last season and, like Son, naturally likes to drift inside to unleash powerful strikes towards goal.
The Brazilian could be a perfect replacement for the South-Korean on the left, and at 25, will only get better in the coming years.

A move for Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon would be one requiring a significant expenditure.
The Magpies are currently braced for a Premier League-record bid for their star striker, Alexander Isak, and the Swede’s departure would surely prevent any move for their winger.
But if Spurs were to sneak in a move for Gordon, Newcastle may see the benefit in attempting to convince Isak to remain in the North East for one more year.
The 24-year-old registered 26 direct goal contributions in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season, and would give Spurs an injection of what Son has seemed to lose recently – pure pace.

If Spurs are willing to flex their financial muscles and show real ambition ahead of the new season, there are not many better options than Rafael Leao.
The winger has established himself among the world’s best since his move to Italian giants AC Milan in 2019, consistently hitting double digits in goals and assists in each of the last four seasons.
Rafael Leao | AC Milan |
Appearances | 260 |
Goals | 70 |
Assists | 62 |
At 26, Leao is approaching his prime and his arrival in North London would undoubtedly send shockwaves throughout the Premier League.
