Levy to turn on Frank – Three Tottenham predictions for the 2025/26 season

Tottenham are set to enter a new era once again this season as Thomas Frank takes the reins.

The former Brentford boss is the man tasked with taking the Lilywhites to the next level, after Ange Postecoglou delivered their first trophy in 17 years at the end of last season.

Frank will be desperate to stamp his own authority on Spurs, both on and off the pitch, and his work towards that has already begun during the pre-season campaign.

The new Premier League campaign is now just over two weeks away, and with that in mind, Tottenham News makes three predictions for Spurs’ 2025/26 season.

Vuskovic to have breakthrough Tottenham season

Luka Vuskovic has caught the eye for Tottenham in pre-season so far, and this could be the season where he establishes himself as a genuine first-team option.

The centre back has only just arrived in North London after turning 18, and he will be hoping to showcase what he has learned from spending the last two seasons out on loan.

Frank has top-quality options at the centre of his defence in the form of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, but the places of the likes of Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies could well be there for the taking if the Croatian can prove that he is ready.

The boss has not been afraid to hand opportunities to young players in the past, and with Vuskovic already showing his ability, it may be hard for the Dane to resist the temptation to throw him in at the deep end.

Spurs to beat Arsenal at home

Tottenham have endured a woeful recent record in the North London Derby, but now could be the perfect time for them to start flipping the rivalry on its head.

The Lilywhites have won just one of the last nine clashes against their bitter North London rivals, and that has seen Arsenal cling onto the local bragging rights for far too long.

Frank had Brentford running like a well-oiled machine at home in the first half of the 2024/25 campaign, and he could be on to a winner if he can establish a similar level of dominance on home turf in N17.

Spurs will have to wait until 21 February to get a look at their neighbours in their own ground, but a positive first half of the season could have confidence flowing through them by the time that date comes around.

They are overdue a victory against Arsenal, and their home clash against Mikel Arteta’s men will provide a perfect opportunity to end that drought.

Levy to turn on Frank if Spurs don’t improve

Daniel Levy has potentially set a dangerous precedent at Spurs with his decision to sack Postecoglou after winning the Europa League.

The Lilywhites’ chief made it clear that success in the cup competitions will not offset a poor domestic campaign, but he will need to afford Frank some leniency as he finds his feet.

The Dane still has plenty of deadwood left in the squad from Postecoglou’s reign, and it is unlikely that he will be able to complete the overhaul that is necessary in just one transfer window.

With that in mind, Levy will need to be patient with the new boss, but he may not find that easy after the taste of success last season.

He will be hoping that Frank can be the man to finally realise his lofty ambitions for Spurs, and it would be no surprise to see him grow frustrated fairly quickly if there are few early signs of progress.
