Levy ‘sees Postecoglou replacement up close’ as Tottenham sack nears
Daniel Levy has intensified his search for Ange Postecoglou’s replacement as the club continues its downward trajectory.
Tottenham reached a new low as they dropped to 17th in the league following another abject display against Crystal Palace on Sunday (11 May).
While the result is of little significance at this stage of the season, the all-too-frequent fragile nature of the performance will be ringing alarm bells in Levy‘s mind.
The Europa League final offers a silver lining for what has otherwise been an agonising season, but it will have little bearing on the decision on Ange Postecoglou’s future.

Levy learned lessons in defeat against Palace
Spurs’ latest result at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium presented very little new information about the situation within the club.
Postecoglou once again proved he is unable to motivate his players to perform at the required levels in the league with the Europa League final looming in the background.
What stood out in the sunshine in North London was that his counterpart had no such issues despite himself seeking cup glory.
Levy, in attendance for Sunday’s game, will have taken notice, and it is no surprise that Oliver Glasner is amongst the top candidates to replace Postecoglou.
Date | Home or Away | Result |

Glasner has seen his stock dramatically rise since his arrival in the Premier League 15 months ago, overseeing a complete transformation in the Eagles’ fortunes.
His ability to instil an intense work rate and team ethic into his players while giving them license to express their individual qualities has elevated the South London side to new heights.
His man-management has also shone through as he has gotten the best out of big characters such as Spurs target Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Levy would hope that the Austrian could have a similar influence north of the river, adopting a similarly front-footed style of play whilst enhancing the club’s long-criticised mentality.

Glasner must be sold Spurs project
The average lifespan of a Tottenham manager has diminished drastically in the last few years, and with key players such as Cristian Romero’s future in doubt, the club may face an uphill battle to convince Glasner to commit.
Levy may point to the allure of a new stadium and the potential of the young squad awaiting the former Eintracht Frankfurt coach, but in a twist of fate, it may ultimately come down to whether their current manager can guide them to Champions League qualification.
