Joe Lewis gets all the evidence he needs to sack Thomas Frank amid scenes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has not been an enjoyable place for fans to go to this season, at least not for Spurs supporters.

Spurs suffered a damaging loss 2-1 to Newcastle United at home this Tuesday in a Premier League showdown that had great importance for both sides.

Eddie Howe has been under pressure to deliver results for the Magpies, but it’s nothing compared to what Frank faces in N17.

Regardless of whether the Lilywhites left with the win against Newcastle, the Spurs fans seem to have already made their mind up on Frank, and it doesn’t look good.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looked more empty vs Newcastle

Spurs fans want Frank be sacked, but Joe Lewis has yet to pull the trigger on the former Brentford man.

When the head coach signed the contract in the summer, there were high hopes that he could develop the Lilywhites with the help of better-quality players.

Now, after a shocking run of results and performances, it looks like Frank has no way back, which surely leaves Lewis with one decision to make for Tottenham.

As highlighted by reporter Sam Tabuteau on X, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is starting to show gaps of empty seats, as boos rang around the ground after the loss to Newcastle. There’s only one reason for this.

If Frank had been inspiring supporters with promising performances, then the feeling would be different. But everything is lethargic and illogical, which makes the poor results even worse.

First-half stats vs Newcastle show no hope left for Thomas Frank

If there were ever evidence that Lewis needed to sack Frank immediately, that first half against Newcastle was all he needed.

Joe Willock’s goal for Newcastle was ruled as offside, and instead of Frank using it as a sign to change things, he didn’t, and the Lilywhites ended up conceding moments later anyway.

However, as highlighted in the graphic above, Newcastle dominated the first half, and Frank deserved to be booed off at the break.

No shots on target at home in 45 minutes is the sign of a team destined for relegation and further highlights the fairly easy call that Lewis has to make at this point.
