‘Frank clearout begins as Tottenham prepare for £12.9m Bissouma transfer offer’

Thomas Frank and Daniel Levy have a huge summer ahead of them as they attempt to drag Tottenham’s squad into shape ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Frank has only been in the job for a matter of weeks, but he has no time to waste as he gears up for what promises to be a pretty daunting task for the remainder of the summer.

Mohammed Kudus has been linked with Tottenham, but the Lilywhites also have plenty of deadwood to shift from their squad to free up room for fresh faces.

One of those who is seemingly destined to depart N17 is Yves Bissouma, who has struggled to find consistency in his three years in North London.

Fenerbahçe are ready to offer £12.9m for Bissouma

Bissouma has attracted plenty of attention from Juventus of late, as the Mali international edges closer to the exit door at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A potential swap deal has been mooted which could see Douglas Luiz move in the opposite direction, but Spurs may have just been presented with an even more glaring opportunity to move Bissouma on.

Fenerbahçe are thought to be preparing an initial offer of £12.9million for the 28-year-old, according to the Turkish outlet Sabah (8 July).

José Mourinho is understood to be desperate to bring the midfielder to Istanbul, and Bissouma is also understood to be keen on the idea.

The Turkish giants will offer Bissouma a four-year contract to turn his back on Spurs, but that also provides Frank with the ideal opportunity to begin his clearout at the club.

If Tottenham are to make significant moves in the transfer market, getting some of their current players off the wage bill could be necessary.

Bissouma sale can begin Frank’s clearout

Fenerbahçe’s current bid may be slightly short of Spurs’ valuation of £15m, but that shouldn’t deter the Lilywhites from negotiating a sale with Mourinho’s side.

A couple of million is virtually pocket change for a club like Tottenham, and the prospect of what would likely be a swift and easy deal will surely appeal to both Levy and Frank.

The Danish boss will know that several of the current contingent will need to be moved on, especially the likes of Bissouma, who has largely been a squad player since his move from Brighton.

Any new manager will be keen to bring his own players into a club, but for Frank, cutting adrift some of the more disappointing depth options could be equally important this summer.
