Brennan Johnson ‘being pushed out of Tottenham’ amid £25m transfer news
Brennan Johnson could find himself growing in frustration after what has been a tough campaign with Tottenham.
Tottenham’s failures this season have left them fighting for Europa League success as their only remaining way to win a trophy.
A failure to do that would see them enter their 18th year without silverware, with a remarkable amount of work to do in the summer transfer window.
The future of Ange Postecoglou will come under question, as will the future of several first-team players, with Johnson potentially one of those set to suffer as a result.

Tottenham eye deal for Aston Villa forward
Tottenham need to have a successful summer window if they are to have any chance of progressing after what has been a dismal campaign, with planning already underway.
According to a report from TBR (27 March), Villa’s Leon Bailey is on the radar of Spurs, with an exit under Unai Emery possible this summer.
Premier League | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Johnson | 26 | 9 | 2 |
The 27-year-old joined the Villans in 2021 for a reported fee of around £25million, but has failed to showcase his quality on a consistent basis.
This season, Johnson has featured regularly, though that has mainly been down to the lack of direct competition on the right wing, with Dejan Kulusevski often playing centrally.
With Noni Madueke also linked, it seems evident that Spurs are keen on adding a right-winger in the summer, leaving questions over the future of the Welshman.

Bailey signing wouldn’t make sense for Tottenham
While Postecoglou will take the majority of the blame, the lack of quality in the Tottenham squad has contributed to their shortcomings just as much, and with Bailey failing to impress at Villa, it seems a bizarre deal if it were to happen.
Tottenham need players capable of coming in and instantly improving the side, and there would be many doubts about Bailey’s ability to do that.
With that said, additions will be imperative in the summer, and without them, there is every chance that the nightmare of the current campaign could be repeated.
