Ange Postecoglou ‘trying to get the sack’ as Tottenham decision made
Tottenham supporters were left perplexed at Ange Postecoglou waiting until stoppage time to introduce Will Lankshear despite Tottenham being 2-1 down to Leicester.
Spurs fell to yet another defeat on 26 January, at the hands of Leicester with the Foxes leaving London with all three points as pressure continues to grow on Postecoglou.
Despite trailing 2-1 after the 50th minute, Postecoglou waited until stoppage time to bring on Lankshear, in a decision that baffled supporters.
Many were left questioning the decision while others were speechless as to how Lankshear was supposed to impact the game with just minutes left on the clock.
Tottenham fans fume at Ange Postecoglou
Given the nature of the game, it’s baffling that Lankshear wasn’t brought on far sooner in an attempt to at least rescue a point with Mikey Moore the only attacking change up until that point.
Spurs looked toothless in front of goal and, unsurprisingly, lacked the presence of a natural striker which Lankshear certainly is.
His late overdue introduction left many supporters to criticise Postecoglou with others insinuating that it should be the last decision he makes as Spurs boss.
The feeling among the Spurs faithful is clear, and it’s certainly justified after what’s another horror display from Tottenham against a side that has looked devoid of quality all season.
Lankshear has every right to feel hard done by as if he’s not going to get a real chance now, will he ever get one under Postecoglou? It’s hard to imagine that being a reality.
Once again Tottenham have embarrassed themselves and there can’t be long left until Postecoglou faces the sack.
In other Tottenham news, Jamie O’Hara raged at the footage from the clash with Leicester.
