Ally McCoist gets Tottenham prediction horribly wrong, he’ll be embarrassed

Ally McCoist will be massively embarrassed after a wild past prediction on Tottenham emerged once again this week.

Back in November, Tottenham smashed Aston Villa 4-1 to make it two victories in four days after securing a 2-1 EFL Cup win against Manchester City beforehand.

It is safe to say that Spurs made light of Unai Emery’s side despite Morgan Rogers scoring the opener after 32 minutes.

Four goals later Ange Postecoglou was celebrating a heavy win which left everyone associated with the N17 club excited for the upcoming season. Despite this, things haven’t quite worked out.

Ally McCoist made to look silly by Tottenham prediction

Supporters now know that the campaign hasn’t gone to plan with the Australian head coach and his side sitting 12th in the Premier League.

This ultimately will make many supporters and pundits look silly after sharing their hopes for the rest of the campaign.

One of those pundits who made a prediction was McCoist and it has gone on to be horribly wrong.

Speaking live on talkSPORT on 4 November, he said: “I think they have got the potential to have the consistency for top four. I’ve gone on record to say they could win a cup this year, absolutely.

“They’ve got a level of performance in them that could beat anyone and that’s what I think. On their day, all things firing on all cylinders, Spurs can beat anybody.”

This just goes to show how badly this campaign has ultimately gone for Spurs who have dropped off so far from their expectations.

Tottenham could get Premier League boost after Manchester United win

It is safe to say that Postecoglou and his players haven’t lived up to the expectations of McCoist so far this season but there are reasons for this.

Injuries have seriously taken their toll on the Lilywhites this campaign which means it is little surprise to see such a steep drop off this campaign.

That could be set to change in the coming weeks after a much-needed 1-0 win was secured against Manchester United on Sunday (16 February).

James Maddison grabbed the winner with less than 15 minutes on the clock, shushing Roy Keane with his trademark darts celebration in the process.

This saw the Englishman mark his return from injury while Brennan Johnson and Wilson Odobert played long-awaited minutes in North London.

As more stars are welcomed back by the N17 outfit the better their fortunes should be especially with a trip to Ipswich Town coming up on Saturday (22 February).

With that being said, it will certainly be interesting to see how close to fulfilling McCoist’s prediction Postecoglou’s side can get.
