Yves Bissouma loves James Maddison at Tottenham, admits he would be good captain

Yves Bissouma loves having James Maddison at Tottenham after the England international arrived from Leicester City in the summer.

The Mali international even suggested that Maddison would be a good captain for Spurs in the future, something which may eventually happen under Ange Postecoglou.

Maddison has been in inspired form since arriving in North London, scoring three goals and adding five assists already in his 10 Premier League appearances.

Speaking to Kick Game on their latest episode on YouTube, Bissouma shared just what Maddison has brought to the club under Ange Postecoglou.

“He’s a good guy, he’s really good,” he said. “Trying to know what’s happening and every time coming to check on everyone.

“I think he can be a good captain in the future as well, but as a player I love him.”

Ex-Spurs right-back Alan Hutton told Tottenham News:

Maddison some of his passing, reverse passing, getting shots at goal, he’s closing down.

I think for me he’s been the outstanding one, he’s probably been the one player that the team’s been crying out for for a number of seasons probably since Eriksen left that creative midfielder that can also score.

So, I think he’s probably lightened the load a little bit since Kane left, the problem for me is you need to keep him fit – I think if he goes out of that team they become a little bit different, they don’t have as many options in that forward line in kind of his position.

So, I think that’s where it could be a problem.”

In other Tottenham News, former Spurs scout Bryan King gave one player a 5/10 rating for his performance against Palace.
