Vuskovic exit sealed at Tottenham as official offer lined up for young defender
Luka Vuskovic may not get the chance he was hoping for at Tottenham next season.
Vuskovic signed for Tottenham in September 2023 from Hajduk Split, but was only allowed to join up with the Lilywhites this summer after turning 18 years old due to post-Brexit regulations.
The Croatia international spent some time on loan in Poland with Radomiak Radom, before enjoying a very successful year with Belgian side Westerlo last season, where he managed to score seven goals from centre-back.
Vuskovic will be hoping to seal a spot in Spurs’ first team under Thomas Frank for the campaign ahead, but that looks unlikely now.

Tottenham close to making offer for Giovanni Leoni
Tottenham have been very proactive in scouting top-level centre-backs this summer as they remain uncertain over Cristian Romero’s future.
The Lilywhites have already brought in two central defenders in Kota Taki and Kevin Danso, and have continued to explore options in the market.
One player that has appeared on Spurs’ radar is Giovanni Leoni, who had a breakthrough season with Parma in Serie A last year.
Season | Appearances | Starts | Goals conceded | Minutes Played |
2024/25 | 17 | 14 | 25 | 1,205′ |
Tottenham had already made inquiries about the highly-rated Italian and are now close to making an “official offer” for the 18-year-old, according to CaughtOffside (25 July).
They will have to fend off interest from numerous other European and Premier League clubs, particularly Newcastle, who are at a similar stage to Spurs.
With Parma not willing to accept an offer below £26million, it would require a significant investment from Daniel Levy to bring Leoni to Hotspur Way.
His arrival would likely mark the departure of Vuskovic, who has had plenty of loan opportunities presented to him this summer.

Vuskovic in good stead to succeed at Spurs
Regardless of whether Vuskovic stays or leaves on loan this year, the talented defender has all the attributes to succeed at Spurs.
The youngster’s size and physicality took fans aback in Tottenham’s friendly against Reading, in which the Croatian scored and registered an assist within 10 minutes of entering the pitch.
Vuskovic’s overall performance against the Royals was excellent, showcasing both his attacking and defensive qualities.
He also showed very few signs of nerves despite making his debut for the North Londoners, indicating that he will comfortably adapt to the big stage once Frank decides the time is right.
