Levi Colwill impressed while on loan at Brighton from Chelsea this season with multiple Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, now interested in his signature.
Spurs are in desperate need of a left-side centre-back and Colwill would be an absolute dream signing. Although he has played just less than 20 games in the Premier League, his talent is there for all to see and any club that could sign him would certainly be bringing in one for the future.
As reported by the Daily Mail (6 June), Colwill was recently the subject of a £30million bid from Brighton which Chelsea refused, insisting the player is not for sale. However, the Seagulls are now weighing up returning with a £40million offer.

According to Ben Jacobs, however, although the player has been “discussed,” a deal at this stage could prove tricky to pull off.
Jacobs told the Last Word On Spurs, “Look out for Premier League defenders, I would add another name even though I don’t think he’ll be gettable, Levi Colwill, Tottenham are one of the clubs in for Colwill.
“They have discussed him internally and they have a high appreciation for the player, I don’t mean they have moved. The reason they haven’t moved is because, like Brighton, they’re getting the same indications out of Chelsea, which is that the player is not for sale.”
But, with just two years left on his current Chelsea deal, a big-money offer could tempt the London club into selling, and Ange Postecoglou would have a gem on his hands if Tottenham could pull it off.

At just 20 years old, the centre-back put up some impressive passing numbers last season during his spell at Brighton. As per stats provided by FBREF, Colwill completed 75.76 passes per 90, placing him in the top seven per cent of Premier League defenders, and had a pass completion rate of 88.2 per cent.
The young defender showed maturity beyond his years and would be an excellent addition to Spurs’ back line, with recent reports most likely exciting fans.
Unfortunately, with Chelsea reluctant to sell, the large fee required to take Colwill away from Stamford Bridge just might price Tottenham out of this move, with business between the two clubs also being a rarity.
In other Tottenham news, the club are reportedly lining up another potential target from Chelsea.
