Van de Ven reacts after Tottenham injury update – ‘He’s back’
Micky van de Ven has expressed his excitement after a positive injury update at Tottenham.
It has been a season to forget for Spurs, with Ange Postecoglou currently facing the sack. However, it is fair to say that a lot of the North London club’s issues this term have been due to the number of injuries they have had to contend with.
Cristian Romero, who has spent much of the season on the sidelines himself, recently aimed a subtle dig at Spurs’ medical staff after he returned to action in the 2-2 Premier League draw with Bournemouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (9 March).
The draw with the Cherries also saw van de Ven make his long-awaited return to action, and the Dutchman has reacted after another positive injury update in N17.

Dominic Solanke was a doubt to feature for Tottenham against Bournemouth.
However, the striker was able to start against his former side despite suffering a knock on his return to action in the 1-0 UEFA Europa League Round of 16 first-leg defeat to AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadion on Thursday (6 March).
Tottenham | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Dominic Solanke | 31 | 11 | 6 |
The striker took to his personal Instagram account (10 March) to express his feelings after making his return from injury.
Solanke posted a series of pictures from the draw with Bournemouth, writing, “Felt good to be back out there again yesterday after a while. All focus now on Thursday”.
And among the comments was his Spurs teammate van de Ven, who wrote, “He’s back.”
Solanke and van de Ven can lift Tottenham
Spurs can still make history this season, despite all the disappointment in recent months.
By lifting the Europa League, Postecoglou would end a 17-year trophy drought in North London and edge his name in Tottenham history.
However, if the Australian and his players are going to do that, they are going to have to make some serious improvements.
Luckily the returns of Solanke and van de Ven, as well as Romero, should help them to do just that.
