Van de Ven makes new Tottenham admission after confirming PSG approach
Tottenham could be set to see a whole host of changes take place in North London this summer.
Although the season ended with a trophy and Champions League football, the campaign as a whole was a disappointing one, and there is plenty of work to be done.
Daniel Levy is yet to make a final call over the future of Ange Postecoglou, although it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave.
That could just be the start of several changes, though, with some players’ futures yet to be decided.

Micky Van de Ven confirms PSG interest
Although Tottenham’s season was incredibly disappointing, finishing 17th in the Premier League table, Postecoglou’s men were also hit by some tough circumstances.
Several injuries in the side left the boss extremely short of options at times, with Micky Van de Ven being one of those who struggled.
The defender made just 13 Premier League appearances this past season, having spent the majority of the campaign on the sidelines.
Season | Appearances |
2024/25 | 13 |
2023/24 | 27 |
In a time when the Lilywhites were trying to juggle the demands of Premier League action alongside pushing for a trophy in the Europa League, the Dutchman’s absence was certainly felt.
Thankfully for supporters, Van de Ven is under contract until 2029 and should be ready to have a much better season with Spurs in the Champions League.
However, the 24-year-old has revealed that he was previously subjected to interest from PSG.
As per Voetbal Primeur (2 June), Van de Ven said: “I know [PSG] reported to my agent Mino Raiola. It never got to the point where it would lead to serious matters.
“At some point, clubs will start to attract you, and they will contact you. But before it becomes serious, you are further away from home. But you will hear that from more clubs.”
“They have a fantastic team, of course. The coach has done an incredible job.”
He also reassured supporters that he is very much content at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as when asked if he was disappointed the move didn’t go through, he said: “I am not looking at that now.
“I am very much in my element at Tottenham Hotspur.”

Van de Ven to be like new signing for Tottenham
Given how much game time he had to miss through injury, having Van de Ven back to full fitness for the new term will be like a new addition for Spurs.
With the increased demands of Premier League and Champions League football, though, the Lilywhites will have to make sure they manage the defender’s minutes to avoid a repeat of this season’s worries.
Work soon needs to get underway in North London to ensure the necessary cover is in place, but Levy is going to have to commit to a managerial decision first.
