Tottenham transfer round-up: Milan Škriniar update emerges, plus player recalled

Ange Postecoglou will be more desperate than ever for Tottenham to sign reinforcements.

Spurs suffered their 12th Premier League defeat of the season on Sunday (19 January) as they were beaten 3-2 by Everton at Goodison Park. Despite this, Postecoglou’s position remains safe for now [via Football London, 20 January].

However, the Australian will be more aware than anyone that Spurs’ form must improve. Therefore, new signings are desperately needed before the winter transfer window closes, with Daniel Levy blasted as a result of the club’s lack of transfer activity this month.

Tottenham News rounds up all the latest transfer news from Monday 20 January.

Galatasaray leading Tottenham in race for Milan Škriniar

As reported by TBR Football (20 January), Tottenham are desperate to sign a new left-sided centre-back before 3 February, with Milan Škriniar high on their list of potential targets.

However, Paris Saint-Germain currently have no loan spots available, which could make a temporary switch difficult.

And even if a move were to take place, Galatasaray are currently considered the frontrunners to sign Škriniar.

Dane Scarlett returns to Tottenham

As confirmed via the club’s official website on Monday (20 January), Dane Scarlett has been recalled from his season-long loan spell with Oxford United.

However, some supporters have suggested that Daniel Levy might treat this as a new signing, which would no doubt upset Postecoglou.

Meanwhile, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has suggested that the North London club have taken a “risk” by recalling Scarlett.

Tottenham offered chance to sign Noah Okafor

As reported by TBR Football (20 January), AC Milan have offered Noah Okafor to Spurs, with the club in need of a striker after Dominic Solanke’s recent injury setback.
