Tottenham told to sack Postecoglou now live on Sky Sports: ‘Unacceptable’

Tottenham have been told to sack Ange Postecoglou by Jamie O’Hara after their “unacceptable” performance in their 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Sunday.

Spurs were second-best throughout the clash with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men getting the better of them within the first five minutes of the second half on 26 January.

Their poor form can be whittled down to several reasons but one of the main ones is the lack of heart and passion their team seems to have.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News (26 January) after the game, O’Hara shared his thoughts on Spurs’ overall performance.

“Maybe [could be Ange’s last game], this is unacceptable,” O’Hara said.

“I would love to say it’s been an onslaught and the two goals have come early on and Spurs have come out to try and win the game but they haven’t really done anything, the Leicester ‘keeper has had nothing to do, no real clear-cut chances, terrible performance again.

“I said in the first-half, Tottenham were a bit flat Richarlison gets on the end of a great cross but apart from that they didn’t really do anything.

“So, over the course of the 90 minutes, it’s been a really bad performance, I don’t know if Ange can keep losing games and keep his job but at the moment this is nowhere near good enough and we could be looking at Postecoglou’s last game.”

Time is ticking for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

As has been the case for most of the 2024/25 season, it feels like Postecoglou’s days at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are numbered.

The Australian has refused to change the way that he lines his team up despite the sheer amount of injuries they’ve suffered throughout the campaign.

Even though Daniel Levy has stuck by him through thick and thin this season, it’s getting increasingly difficult for fans to try and think up ways that the chairman can justify keeping him in charge.

At the moment, Tottenham are 15th in the Premier League table with just one point separating them from 16th-placed Everton.

Tottenham fans celebrating
Tottenham fans haven’t had much to cheer about in recent years.

To make matters worse, however, the Toffees have a game in hand over the North London outfit which, if they manage to win, could send them above.

Time is running out for things to turn around at Tottenham and unless some serious changes are made, it’s hard to see where their form is going to come from.
