Tottenham technical director Johan Lange ‘a big fan’ of Kalvin Phillips – report
Tottenham technical director Johan Lange is “a big fan” of Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reported online (18 October) that Spurs could make a move for the England international should Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leave the club in January.
Phillips is in need of regular game time ahead of Euro 2024 taking place in Germany next summer and could consider a move away if he continues to sit on the bench at Manchester City.

The 27-year-old has struggled since making the switch from Leeds United in the summer of 2022, starting just five games in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side since his arrival at the club.
Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King told Tottenham News:
“I think Phillips would be a good asset for Tottenham, certainly playing alongside James Maddison in midfield. He is tough, covers a lot of ground and had a good time at Leeds United. He is a hard-working boy, a family boy.
“Something went wrong at Manchester City, he has obviously fallen out of love with Pep or other members of the coaching team, but he has got to be playing regular football if he wants to make it to the European Championships with England, so why not at Tottenham?

“Ange Postecoglou likes players who are tough and give it 100 per cent, and that is what Phillips does, he is a strong tackler. I think he would be an upgrade on Hojbjerg.”
In other Tottenham news, one summer signing is already showing his worth at the club.
