Tottenham star sends public message to West Ham new signing amid fall-out of defeat vs Man United
Mathys Tel was overlooked by Thomas Frank once again in Tottenham’s 2-0 loss to Man United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Cristian Romero was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Casemiro in the first half, and the game quickly got away from Spurs as a result.
Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes were enough for Michael Carrick’s side to secure all three points and leave Frank under more pressure.
Starting the game as a substitute, Tel came on in the 80th minute, which shows how little faith the Dane places in the French winger by not bringing him on earlier in the match.

After spending the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan from Bayern Munich, Tel joined Spurs permanently for £30million in the summer, becoming Frank’s first signing.
Tel already wants to leave Tottenham due to the lack of game time this season, and Frank’s latest decision will certainly contribute to his growing frustration in N17.
The 20-year-old French attacker was left out of Spurs’ Champions League squad on 19 January when Dominic Solanke returned from injury, and his long-term future is definitely in doubt.

Despite his frustrations in N17, he was quick to show some love for his fellow countryman, Axel Disasi.
The centre-back moved to West Ham on loan in the winter transfer window and started his first game under Nuno Espirito Santo in their 2-0 victory over Burnley.
Tel posted a message under the post and said: “Réel,” which translates to “real” in English.
After being exiled from Chelsea’s squad, Disasi is finally getting a taste of football again with the Hammers.
He’ll undoubtedly leave the Blues in the summer transfer window, and that could be the exact same outcome for Tel at Tottenham.

Mathys Tel’s Tottenham exit looks more likely each game
Most Spurs fans will believe that Tel has been harshly treated, given that several other attackers in the squad have offered less going forward.
Having averaged a goal every 190 mins in the Premier League this season, you would think that Frank would hand him more chances in the team.
However, he hasn’t started any of the last three matches, and it’s clear that the money spent on him has been a huge waste of funds.
Tel has immense potential to succeed in the Premier league, but he must shoulder some of the blame for not taking his opportunities in the team with conviction.
Ultimately, it will all lead to more speculation around Tel’s future in the summer, and Roma were one of the clubs that was interested in him over the winter transfer window.
More clubs from all around Europe will be tempted to sign him, and if Frank continues to leave him on the bench, it will become increasingly clear well before the end of the campaign.
