Tottenham set to confirm another sacking alongside Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou isn’t the only senior figure expected to be sacked by Tottenham.

Tottenham have officially sacked Postecoglou after two seasons in North London.

The decision is a bold one after the Australian ended a 17-year trophy drought at Tottenham by guiding the Lilywhites to the UEFA Europa League.

However, it looks as though that wasn’t enough to convince Daniel Levy, who doesn’t seem to be finished wielding the axe in North London.

Tottenham to confirm Scott Munn sacking

Munn began his role as Tottenham’s Chief Football Officer in 2023. However, it seems as though he is set to become the latest victim of Levy’s summer cleanout.

As reported by Matt Law (6 June), Spurs are expected to confirm that Munn has been sacked.

The news comes days after Donna-Maria Cullen announced decided to step down from her position as Executive Director at Tottenham.

Matthew Collecott’s future at Spurs has also been questioned in recent days, and he could now become the next person to be shown the door after Postecoglou and Munn.

Postecoglou sacking will turn out to be a mistake

Postecoglou achieved the impossible when he delivered Tottenham the Europa League. After 17 long years of hurt, the Australian gave Spurs fans a night they’ll cherish for a lifetime.

For years, many managers more accomplished than Postecoglou have walked the halls of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and yet have all come up short. Therefore, sacking Postecoglou seems like a big risk for Levy to take.

The 59-year-old was highly respected by his players, who publicly backed him to deliver Spurs silverware. Now it seems that the club has taken one step forward just to jump two steps back, with several players’ futures said to be linked to Postecoglou.

Munn’s departure could be followed by the departures of several of those players. However, for now, the only thing certain is that season three at Hotspur Way has officially been axed.
