Tottenham ‘set for double raid on Crystal Palace’ in Glasner exit bombshell

Tottenham are likely to be in the hunt for a new manager this summer, and Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is desired.

Ange Postecoglou could be headed for the exit door no matter what happens in the Europa League, with Spurs in the semi-finals of the competition.

Tottenham’s dismal season cannot be repeated next year, and changing manager may be the key to getting the best out of this squad.

A shock move for Glasner may also lead to Crystal Palace players joining Spurs, and another exciting name has been mooted.

Tottenham want Glasner and Tyrick Mitchell

Tottenham are admirers of the work Glasner has done at Palace, with the Austrian leading them to the FA Cup final, and they could perform a double raid.

With Spurs also seeking out defensive reinforcements, Palace left-back Tyrick Mitchell has now emerged as an option which could also help them secure Glasner.

Spurs are in terrible form

Speaking on talkSPORT (30 April), transfer insider Alex Crook revealed that Glasner is admired by Spurs, and losing Mitchell could lead to his exit from Selhurst Park.

“Oliver Glasner’s an interesting one as I think he’s going to want assurances that he is going to be backed by Palace in this transfer window, both in terms of players coming in, but also keeping the current players,” he stated.

“Tyrick Mitchell actually is on Tottenham’s list.”

Glasner would be ideal for Tottenham

As it stands, it seems unlikely that Glasner would leave Crystal Palace for Tottenham, but if there is a chance of hiring him, Spurs must take it.

Glasner has transformed Palace since he arrived to replace Roy Hodgson in February 2024, successfully implementing a three at the back formation, changing their style of play and maximising the ability within the squad.

He has got the best out of the players he inherited, with Jean-Philippe Mateta particularly thriving under Glasner, and he could have a similar impact at Tottenham.

Mitchell would also be a strong addition for Tottenham as an option at left-back, and it would be a coup if Spurs were able to recruit both from the South London club.
