Tottenham ready to sell Son Heung-min amid ‘massive’ Saudi Arabia transfer claim
Son Heung-min might have already played his final game for Tottenham as transfer news emerges.
After nearly a decade in North London, Son finally won a trophy with Tottenham as the Lilywhites beat Manchester United 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League final (21 May).
However, on a personal level, Son wasn’t at his best this season, and it appears as though the winger’s best days might be behind him.
Therefore, it looks as though Tottenham are ready to cut ties with the South Korean as a Saudi Arabia transfer update emerges.

Tottenham will sell Son if a huge offer from Saudi Arabia is tabled
Son has not evaded the injuries that have infiltrated Ange Postecoglou’s side this season, and it was doubtful whether the 32-year-old would return in time to face United after suffering a foot injury.
However, in spite of these injury woes, the winger played just five fewer games in the Premier League compared to the previous season, but the drop-off was substantial.
Now that Postecoglou has handed Tottenham their biggest-ever springboard after winning the Europa League and confirming UEFA Champions League football, Levy is planning a summer of change, which could include selling Spurs’ captain.
Premier League | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Son Heung-min 2024/25 | 30 | 7 | 9 |
Son Heung-min 2023/24 | 35 | 17 | 10 |
As reported by The Irish Sun on Thursday (29 May), clubs in Saudi Arabia are chasing Son’s signature, and Tottenham could be convinced to sell their captain if a “massive” offer were to be made.
Son is thought to be happy to remain in North London, but speculation over Postecoglou’s future could convince him that this is the right time to move on, with Levy ready to green-light a major shake-up of the Spurs squad.

Spurs should not replace Son with Jack Grealish
Grealish has been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer, and the Manchester City star’s arrival could be accelerated if Son departs.
However, it would be a mistake to replace the Spurs skipper with Grealish, who has dropped down the hierarchy at City in recent months.
The Tottenham forward has racked up numbers like few others, having jointly won the Premier League Golden Boot in 2022 with 23 goals and has netted over 100 times in the league.
Meanwhile, Grealish has failed to crack 30 goals in the Premier League in almost 200 appearances.
Therefore, if Spurs are serious about the departure of a club legend this summer, they must find a way to compensate for his output.
