Tottenham race winner named as squad completes 1km at Hotspur Way
Tottenham’s pre-season preparations for the 2025/26 campaign are now underway.
Spurs face five friendlies this summer before their season begins under Thomas Frank.
Tottenham’s first friendly takes place next week when the London club faces Reading on 19 July.
While Frank will be hopeful that Spurs will have made more signings by then, for the time being, the Dane is working hard with the squad he has got.
Spurs’ pre-season began on 5 July, and now many of the stars are aiming to impress their new manager.

George Abbott wins 1km run at Hotspur Way
George Abbott is seen as a great upcoming player in Tottenham’s academy.
The 19-year-old has been at the London club since he was 7 years old and can play as a defensive midfielder or across the backline.
Back in the 2022/23 campaign, he made his Tottenham debut as a late substitute in the 4-1 victory over Leeds United.
Since then, Abbott has captained Spurs to the Premier League 2 title and spent last season out on loan to Notts County, where he won the EFL Goal of the Season.
Now, he has already made a good early impression on Frank.
According to Lilywhite Rose on X (7 July), Tottenham’s players completed a 1km run yesterday, with Abbott being the fastest star.
Frank must give Tottenham’s youth a chance this pre-season
Going into pre-season, a lot has been said about Spurs’ underperforming stars.
Frank is set to give Richarlison a chance to shine this pre-season, despite his awful career at the London club.
However, the Dane must also give many of the academy stars a chance to shine this summer.
Tottenham’s pre-season schedule | Date |
Reading vs Tottenham | 19 July |
Luton Town vs Tottenham | 26 July |
Tottenham vs Arsenal | 31 July |
Tottenham vs Newcastle | 3 August |
Bayern Munich vs Tottenham | 7 August |
With League One sides Reading and Luton Town being the first two friendlies, this is the perfect chance for the youth to show what they are capable of.
Players such as Abbott deserve to make an appearance and show why they should be in Frank’s plans this season.
