Tottenham next manager: Pochettino odds slashed after Postecoglou incident
Mauricio Pochettino continues to be linked with a sensational return to Tottenham.
The current USA manager is beloved in North London after guiding Spurs to a Champions League final defeat in the 2018/19 campaign.
Ange Postecoglou is under immense pressure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the 1-0 loss to Chelsea (2 April), which has only served to increase speculation surrounding his future.

Pochettino return seems more likely after Postecoglou jesture
Postecoglou’s chances of remaining at Tottenham beyond the end of season are slim, even if the Lilywhites win the Europa League after his latest actions.
The atmosphere surrounding the North London club is toxic as was highlighted by his gesture to fans after the disallowed goal against Chelsea and it will not get better if the Australian is still in charge.
It will increase though if Pochettino returned with many supporters still holding onto hopes of a reunion with the Argentine manager.
That prospect seems to be more likely as Paddy Power have slashed the odds on a sensational return for the former Chelsea boss.
The 53-year-old is now 5/2 to be appointed as the next Spurs manager, which is down from the 10/3 that Pochettino was with the same outfit on 20 March.

Postecoglou is surely done at Tottenham
Once you lose the supporters, it is game over for a manager and the Australian has lost the majority of the fanbase.
He has been involved in several unprofessional confrontations with fans as tensions have continued to boil over after a dismal campaign in North London which sees the Lilywhites sitting in 14th place in the Premier League.
Premier League | Matches | GD | Points |
13. Man United | 30 | -4 | 37 |
14. Tottenham | 30 | +11 | 34 |
15. Everton | 30 | -5 | 34 |
Even if the former Celtic man ends the 17-year trophy drought with European success, it may not be enough to keep his job as he is unlikely to get supporters back on board after his latest actions.
If Daniel Levy decides to pull the trigger and sack Postecoglou, Pochettino would be the outstanding candidate to take over.
The Argentine knows the club, he knows how Levy and the board work and he has shown previously that he can turn an underperforming team around and take them to the brink of success.
Spurs need to get the next appointment right, otherwise they risk going backwards and the Argentine would be a great hire and could get supporters believing in the club once again but it may prove difficult to prise him away from the USA.
