Tottenham next manager: New favourite as Levy makes Postecoglou sack decision

Daniel Levy has decided against sacking Ange Postecoglou despite how badly Tottenham are performing in the Premier League.

The Sun reported on 20 January that Postecoglou’s job is “safe for now” after Sunday’s 3-2 defeat away at Everton with the bookmakers making the Aussie the firm favourite to be the next Premier League manager to go.

It is understood that Postecoglou still retains Levy’s support with the North London club currently boasting one foot being in the Carabao Cup final.

The former Celtic manager will reportedly have until at least 6 February – the date of his side’s semi-final second-leg clash versus Liverpool – after winning the opening tie 1-0.

Who will be the next Tottenham manager?

Despite the news that the Spurs could be holding off on sacking Postecoglou for a few weeks, the bookmakers still have the market open to see who his successor will be at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

BetFair’s latest odds have Edin Terzic as the 9/2 favourite.

Marco Silva, Andoni Iraola and Thomas Frank (all 11/2) are next in the running.

Terzic, 42, is currently out of work after his spell as the Borussia Dortmund manager came to an end at the end of last season.

The German-Croatian coach has had two spells in charge at Dortmund and last season he managed to reach the Champions League final with them.

He’s also worked as a scout for Jurgen Klopp during his time at the Signal Iduna Park and served as an assistant coach for Slaven Bilic at Besiktas and West Ham.
