Tottenham next manager: Arsène Wenger in running in shock development
Arsène Wenger has emerged as a shock contender to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
While Daniel Levy is expected to stick by Postecoglou for now [via Alasdair Gold, 27 January] – a decision branded “disgraceful” – that could soon change with Spurs losing their last four Premier League matches on the bounce.
If Postecoglou is sacked, a replacement will be needed, with the odds of Mauricio Pochettino making a shock return to North London slashed.
However, in a perhaps more shocking twist, Wenger has emerged as a contender, with Unibet and BetMGM pricing the legendary Arsenal boss as a 50/1 outsider to take over at Spurs, while BetVictor are offering odds of 66/1.
Arsène Wenger to take over from Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?
There is a reason why Wenger is priced at 50/1 and 66/1 to replace Postecoglou at Tottenham.
The Frenchman being appointed as Spurs manager would arguably be the most shocking appointment in Premier League history, considering both his age and more importantly his legendary status on the other side of North London.
Therefore, this is unlikely to go any further than just speculation. However, the mere fact that Wenger has even been mentioned in the same breath as the Tottenham job likely won’t sit well with Arsenal supporters.
In addition, Tottenham fans probably aren’t pleased about the news either. For now, it looks as though Postecoglou doesn’t need to worry about being replaced in the hot seat at Spurs.

However, if Spurs’ form doesn’t improve soon, the Australian could be emptying out his office.
