Tottenham news: Salary update emerges amid major Oliver Glasner development

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner for next season.

Ange Postecoglou has endured a rough domestic campaign and the only thing keeping him in a job is the North London outfit’s progress in the Europa League.

They’re currently in the quarter-finals and are considered to be among the favourites to win the trophy.

Spurs can offer higher salary to Glasner than RB Leipzig

Along with Spurs, it’s understood that RB Leipzig also have Glasner on their radar.

He achieved success at Frankfurt before moving to the Premier League so it’s no surprise that another German club wants to secure his services.

That said, Bild reports that Tottenham can offer the Austrian a higher salary than what Leipzig can to make him the new manager.

Apart from the Lilywhites, there’s another club in the Premier League to have made contact with Glasner about hiring him this summer.

Tottenham have already made an approach for Glasner

With an approach made, Spurs have made their intentions clear that they see Glasner as a candidate for the job.

He absolutely hit the ground running when he joined Palace last season and transformed the way the team played.

It wasn’t all risk gung-ho football either, as there was a controlled element to the way the London outfit played.

Postecoglou’s Spurs record this season.

Even this season, after a poor start to the season, they recovered well under his leadership while sticking to the principles he embodies.

There is a ceiling for his growth at Palace and he knows that if he is to grow as a manager, he’ll have to move to a bigger club.

The step up to Spurs is perfect and he’s exactly the kind of manager they currently need.

He’s got the tools needed to succeed instantly and he can revolutionise the side by making the most of the young talent he will have at his disposal.
